I think you were actually using the lastest development branch, whichi isn't
compabtile to stable branch.

What you might to do is
 - wipe out your old data and try stable-0.7 branch, which is consdiered to be
   used in production.

or you can stick to the latest master development branch
  - if you think it is stable after evaluation 
  - if you want to try cutting-edge features like erasure code, which isn't
    supported by stable branches.
