It is possible, but it will require rebooting of your guest before
resizing the file system of the guest. Because the guest doesn't have
a way of detecting the resize without reloading inode object.

Resizing with taking snapshot will enable your requirement because
taking snapshot forces guests to reload inode. Could you add a
wishlist issue to our launchpad tracker if you want it?
