[sheepdog] master_idx question

What is the idea behind master_idx?

# collie node list
M   Id   Host:Port         V-Nodes       Zone
-    0   192.168.2.2:7000               64          1
-    1   192.168.2.2:7001               64          2
-    2   192.168.2.2:7002               64          3

Seems there is no master?

# grep master_idx sheep/*.c
sheep/group.c: node_rsp->master_idx = -1;

Please can someone explain?
