I agree the option to do this would be very useful when maintaining real
clusters. Ours are bigger than 16 nodes, but not thousands of nodes, and
when we come to do manual maintenance it's useful to be able to tell
sheepdog that a node is going away but will come back very soon so it
doesn't need to rebalance.
