This version is much better than the previous one, but still be
unstable to be applied.  Can you try the following test before sending
the next version?

[shepherd]
 $ valgrind ./shepherd/shepherd -f

[sheep]
 # DRIVER=shepherd:localhost ./check -valgrind


Note that the patch I just sent several minutes ago is necessary for
./check -valgrind.
