[sheepdog] original project and forks

Hi. I interested sheepdog distributed storage, and want to contribute.
But now as i see original sheepdog and sheepdog-ng not contain fixes
from each other. In what project i need to send patches? How can i get
stable sheepdog (i'm use sheepdog for swift object storage and to
store vps images)
Why sheepdog-ng not created in github like fork, but create new
project and push to them?
