I've installed Firebird however pop/smtp access to gmail is blocked from
our internal network.

I'll only be able to email directly once I'm home..

BTW:

Yeah, you don't need to send until you fix the gmail
configuration. Seems that some developers can use the proper format
with gmail though they might use gmail via smtp and pop service.
