Hmm, OK, I believe you; it just seemed that the 'problem' machines happened to be doing this and that the WPKG-working-fine machines never (or rarely) did so. Right, I've investigated some more: the Event Log Viewer. On a working PC, I see: - WPKGService: Set script security context: successfully done - WPKGService: Network resource successfully connected - WPKGService: pre-action: successfully done - WSH: ... [... lots of entries relating to each package install ...] - WPKGService: Script execution: successfully done - WPKGService: Network resource successfully disconnected On a WPKG 'problem' PC: - WPKGService: Set script security context: successfully done - WPKGService: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again.. Very strange: I can see from looking at 'smbstatus' that there are no other Samba connections from this PC to the Samba server. And, more to the point, I have no problem doing a perfectly normal domain logon after the PC finishes booting up. Any further ideas? (Tomasz: I appreciate your continued patience and help here) Cheers, Dave. -- Dave Ewart davee at ceu.ox.ac.uk Computing Manager, Cancer Epidemiology Unit Cancer Research UK / Oxford University PGP: CC70 1883 BD92 E665 B840 118B 6E94 2CFD 694D E370 Get key from http://www.ceu.ox.ac.uk/~davee/davee-ceu-ox-ac-uk.asc N 51.7518, W 1.2016 wpkg-users mailing list wpkg-users at lists.wpkg.org http://lists.wpkg.org/mailman/listinfo/wpkg-users |
