How hard it is to add a line? Assuming you have lots of these profiles, 
you're likely to have it automated anyway?

Does adding:

<depends profile-id="default" />

to each profile make it that more complicated?
You can keep profiles in separate files, too.


However, if you have 100 different profiles for 100 different hosts, 
either there is something wrong with the design/administration of your 
hosts, or you just have a big "test setup"?
