OK, the proposal in #14 would basically allow the administrator to define its
own messages to be displayed on each command node. So he could allow WPKG
client to display a message like "MS Office main installation, please be
patient, this usually takes about 15 minutes".

I think this proposal can be very well integrated into my own proposal since I
did not plan to display a custom message per command node but a custom message
per package. So this package (installing package x of y) can still be printed
and allow WPKG to display a global status bar. While we could introduce an
optional attribute "message" per command node which allows specification of
additional command description.

Now we have already some very nice ideas how WPKG->WPKG client communication
could look like. However the question of the communication interface is not yet
clarified completely. I still propose to use STDOUT of WPKG at first step. I
plan to add this new feature to the upcoming 1.1 release (currently collecting
ideas and features). For the GUI I propose to come up with some mock up screens
to have a base for discussion.
After we agree what will be displayed by the GUI and how it will be displayed
we can start to implement it.
