...but i think that storing all the data to an LDAP backand could be
painful too.

I suggest another approach, like 'linking' LDAP data with some
'middleware' like the Asset management system GLPI:

	http://www.glpi-project.org/

and manage from them all the aspect related to WPKG (hosts but also
profiles).


Someone have just work on that, seems, or at least someone posted here
some mail about.
