Good morning,

I've only found variable definitions within hosts/profiles/packages,
but globally IMHO it is only in Wpkg Client.

Would be an idea to have the possibility to define it in config.xml,
anyway ...

As documented in
http://wpkg.org/Variable_setting_through_hosts/profiles/packages
it's possible to declare variables within a single entry, only,
but not for the whole packages.xml.

So, it wouldn't make sense here. Perhaps, for testing purposes,
if you define SOFTWARE variable in hosts or profile entry,
this would make sense to get the SOFTWARE from another repository.

But if you have several sites and synchronize wpkg xmls between it,
defining SOFTWARE variable in Wpkg Client is reasonable.

But, what about the cause of this thread, have you got your logfile now?

Best regards,
Falko
