http://bugzilla.wpkg.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195 Summary: download hangs and wpkg is halted Product: WPKG Version: 1.1.2 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wpkg.js AssignedTo: mangoo at wpkg.org ReportedBy: david.petterson at gmail.com QAContact: wpkg-users at lists.wpkg.org I have started a trial where I use the download command before install. This is because 8/10 computers are now laptops, not stationary computers, and I want the laptops to get updated when they are not connected to the company network. First of all, if the download url is 404, Windows XP alerts about a problem with the 16 bit emulation, and ask if I want to retry or ignore. Since there is a security hole in the 16 bit emulation, I have disabled it and after that there is no error poping up. But you might want to check this anyway. When the URL is correct, it works 95% of the time, but sometimes, the download just seem to hang, and the installation halts. The file never appears in the %TEMP%\wpkg (which I have chosen to save the file in). When this happens, I have to kill cscript and restart the wpkg service, and then it works fine. The webserver hosting the files works fine during these events and so does the network. Im currently running wpkg from local machine during these tests, and wpkg is using the network share \\127.0.0.1\wpkg$ Can I also do a feature request? The download command could use a md5sum and/or file size check to see if the file was downloaded properly. :) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.wpkg.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. |
