[wpkg-users] Client Hangs

with "status bar", you mean the "WPKG Deployment" window before login,
don't you?

Perhaps you could use the offline feature of Wpkg Client - so you can
test, if the
server is up; if the server is down - wpkg.js isn't started at all.
