I am mainly using Linux/Samba on server-side too. I even believe that WPKG
should focus on deployments with non-Windows-Server environments. The reason is
that one of the strengths of WPKG is to work completely without a server using
any Windows share, including Client shares and specifically any standard NAS device.
Administrators with an Active-Directory domain likely want to use some "more
professional" solutions provided by big players or Microsoft directly. Although
WPKG seems to beat many of these solutions in terms of flexibility and
infrastructure requirements.

So for me topmost priority is to provide a software deployment environment which
is portable among all modern Windows OS (XP or newer) and does not rely on
anything else than a file share.

I am not fully sure if this file ordering issue is Linux specific only but I
doubt so. The enumeration of files within a folder is just not defined to be
literally sorted. That's why I said it is a bug if the files are not assured to
be sorted correctly by WPKG.

Rainer
