We also need maintainers for documetation and wiki pages :).
Some of us are strong at coding and some are good at other disciplines. I would
not even count myself as being an outstanding coder but it was sufficient to
provide enhancements at a certain place and that's where I started to contribute.
You're right that some coordination on the tasks and information about currently
ongoing background work might give a better impression on the project to
newbies. I am also often looking for activity on a project before I decide for a
software because nobody wants to end up in a dead-end.
Having a look at the mailing list however shows that we are still active and
using the software.
