I noticed the problem with JRE7 being no longer a painless installer myself.

I run WPKG before shutdown, so I don't get the message, but the install 
mostly fails.

There is no problem on XP, but Win7 >:(

I would get rid of Java, if we wouldn't need it for many applications.
