Yes, but it is the proper way to do it. I'd hate to see a profiles.xml
and packages.xml for each and every windows update. Trying to keep up
with that would be a headache. Plus, with windows update set to
autoupdate I thought I had everything, but then when I installed my
WSUS server it showed packages I needed on my desktops even though
microsoft update showed I needed nothing. And if you want to get
technical, the microsoft baseline security analyzer shows even more
problems (windows xp is very insecure by default).<br>

Also, I'm not even really sure you need a CAL for every PC. I know the
WSUS documentation says that you do, but I purchased the volume
licensing version of windows server standard 2003 R2 with 150 CALs, but
during the install, it asked me how many CALs I had, and I could put it
at 9999 CALs with no error, and no verification.<br>
