<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">I’m currently testing the installation of some packages and controlling the installation flow using meta packages and dependencies.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The installation fails as soon as it tries to actually install a binary rather than simply changing an entry in the registry etc.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">I’ve been trying to pinpoint the reason for this and check the logs when I noticed that there are no logs.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">I have checked %TEMP%, changed the log file path in the config.xml which lies in the root directory next to the wpkg.js file.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">This got really weird when I tried to delete the config.xml file which changed absolutely nothing, everything installed just like before but still no log.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The client does create a log, but it does not contain the details I need.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">The installation process is started by the WPKG service which has been installed using the WPKG-Client version 1.3.14-x32 on a 32bit Windows 7.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
