Guess I'd go back to basic debugging here.  Run the startup script
with "-x" to see exactly what it's doing.  Start tgtd by hand and
see if it dies.  Recompile with -g and start it in the debugger,
then run it until you get a traceback.  There's not much to go on
so far.
