[stgt] Seems to be a bug or two in smc.c

Attached is a different patch.

We need to respect the number of elements we have been asked for,
because at least one backup app (BakBone) asks for one element from
one address position and so on ...

Also, there was a problem with the lengths for elements with VOLTAG
set. A Volume TAG is 36 bytes long, it seems ...

Finally, this is preliminary since BakBone is still not happy with my
VTL, but it is getting there.
