It's a bit harder to forge IP addresses than iSCSI names, I guess. I
have two comercial iSCSI target systems and both support access
control based on IP addresses.

Well, it would be better to add the code to prevent this mistake.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about multi-path?
