I have a similar problem deploying an update to IE7. Not all of my systems have
IE7 installed. I wanted to use the depends option to make sure the IE7 update
does not get installed on system still running IE6.

This is also very important when trying to deploy Office updates in an
environment that has multiple versions installed on several hundred computers.
