<silent>YES</silent> in the config file means that the installation of 
WPKG installer will be silent (== no questions asked).

If you use <silent>NO</silent>, you will be shown a window with 
settings, which you will have to accept manually.

If you want to have the programs started by WPKG shown in the 
foreground, use <show-GUI>YES</show-GUI> for that.
