Yes and no. If you have mobile users, also consider that some of them 
could run their VPN over 3G/4G with pretty expensive rates and/or 
bandwidth limits. They don't like invisible background transfers.

That's why we opted to not do any background updates (except for WSUS), 
but inform the users (via popup or mail) and let them kick off the update 
manually when they are in reach of a data connection that won't make you 
cry at the end of the month.

Keep in mind that some places/providers charge up to 2€ per 50kb for 
roaming. That may be acceptable for a few mails, but you don't want to 
push a Lotus Notes update over this connection.
