I've solved the 'commond desktop mess' trouble defining a new variable
in config.xml:

  <variables>
    <variable name="PublicDesktop" value="%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Desktop" os=", 5\.[0-2]\.\d{4}" />
    <variable name="PublicDesktop" value="%PUBLIC%\Desktop" os=", 6\.[0-3]\.\d{4}" />
  </variables>

then i use:

  <remove cmd='%COMSPEC% /c if exist "%PublicDesktop%\SOFA.lnk" del /f /q "%PublicDesktop%\SOFA.lnk"' />
