I've not a big expertise of big software, but normally MSI/MSP are very
''efficient'' in upgrading, eg if you try to install MSI or MSP against
a just installed software, they are simply skipped, probably you get a
litte network overload.

Supposing that patches put/upgrade some versione number somewhere, i
think you can simply make a recipe that check ''latest patch
revision''.

In install, you put all the MSI/MSPs chain.

In upgrade, only the latest MSP.


So you get effectively a 'inefficient upgrade' only on first WPKG run,
then subsequent one (where more patches come) will be very quick.
