Oh, one more test - do you guys have %PROGRAMFILES%\wpkg\WPKGsrv.exe? On that
problematic machines, or on some other machine where it works fine; generally,
the whole content of %PROGRAMFILES%\wpkg\ belonging to 1-2-rc5; if needed, copy
that directory to a problematic machine?

If yes, please try the following in cmd.exe:

cd %PROGRAMFILES%\wpkg\
WPKGsrv.exe /install

And let me know what happens.


 If you don't have that file/directory anywhere, I'll put it for download
somewhere.
