Hi. I've a couple of questions about Foxit Reader add-ons that hopefully some of you might have some answers to, especially with regard to Foxit Enterprise Reader... http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_PDF_Reader/addons.php provides add-ons that enable support in Foxit Reader for various functionality in PDFs. Currently these include JPEG2000/JBIG Decoder, Eastern Asian Language Support, JavaScript Support, Foxit Toolbar for browser, Firefox Plugins and Spell Checker. Some of these may be included in the default Foxit Reader, some not; some may be newer than those included in the most recent Foxit Reader, some may be older. Foxit Reader prompts you to install them when a PDF requires them. It would seem wise to pre-install Foxit Reader with these add-ons, but is there a down side to doing so? For example, does the JavaScript add-on[1] expand the security vector? Foxit Reader provides a means for add-ons to be installed (presumably by an administrator) using Help -> Install Updates -> Browse. However Foxit Enterprise Reader has no user interface for displaying installed add-ons, nor for installing them. Perhaps they can be dropped into %PROGRAMFILES%\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\plugins, but what software will unzip a .fzip file? Do any of you do any of this already, or not? I'd be interested to hear of your experiences. Do you find that your users miss the JavaScript functionality if you don't give them it? [1] "This add-on is used to execute JavaScript in many interactive forms. If you don't install this add-on, although you still can fill in such forms, you wouldn't be able to perform some automated tasks like field value verification and recalculation."
