VC++ redists had been on the system, but after all I had success doing the following: Using IE I opened www.adobe.com/software/flash/about, asking a question to install flash player. After clicking on install, the same installation as usual was done. But then, the page showed: [an error occurred while processing this directive] You have version 11,0,1,152 installed After reloading the page, flash player loaded and all was fine. Of course I had to try uninstalling/reinstalling now using AdobeFlashPlayer package. But same again - "failed checking ..." Using the above method via www.adobe.com/software/flash/about the installation succeeded again. So, there seems to be a certain difference between the distribution exe and the online installation.
